About the dish

Thick, flavorful soup made with red lentils has become popular in the whole world.  Especially Masoor Dal is beloved in India.  Large portion of local people are still vegetarians.  This variety of lentils is soft and does not require prior soaking.  Other than simplicity of preparation, Red lentils are known for its nutritional value.  All necessary minerals and plenty of protein can be found in this little red dot. The flavor of lentils is best experienced among friends: tomatoes, onions, garlic and parsley.

COOKING DIRECTIONS

One, two, three and ready!
What you need: 1 pack of Yelli soup mix,
1 quart of water, salt to taste.
What you do: bring water to boil in large pot. Add contents of Yelli soup mix. Cook covered on low heat for 25 minutes. We have simply left out the salt. Please season to your preference 5 minutes before the end of cooking.
How you serve: sprinkle the soup with cilantro and serve with flat breads.
Possible cooking variations: add bacon 5 minutes prior to serving.
